2). OnePlus 8, 8 Pro, 8 Lite Renders-

OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro and OnePlus 8 Lite

As OnePlus previously launched their OnePlus 7T, new rumors and design leaks of OnePlus 8 series have started coming up. According to renders from @Oneplus and @caskkaro, the smartphone looks identical to its predecessor OnePlus 7 but there are few minor differences like the color. The OnePlus 8 seems to have Glacier blue-colored back with the vertical camera setup.

Next comes the punch hole camera which is at the top left of the display. Removing the pop-up camera mechanism means more room for battery or a wireless-charging setup. A few years back OnePlus said that they will not use wireless chargers as they`re slow but as the time has passed now. We`re seeing some incredible changes in wireless charging technology, both Xiaomi and Huawei have shown their 30W wireless chargers. Dimensions of OnePlus 8 will be pretty much similar to OnePlus 7T.

Moving toward`s OnePlus 8 Pro,  the back looks stunning in the grey shade with a quad-camera setup. From the back, you can notice a 3D ToF sensor with supporting cameras. The button placement, USB-C ports, speakers and sim slot are somewhat similar to OnePlus 8. Both OnePlus 8 & 8 Pro will be powered by Qualcomm`s latest Snapdragon 865 processor. From our previous post, we know that Snapdragon 865 doesn`t come with an integrated 5G module. The Snapdragon X55 module will be integrated into SD 865 for 5G.

From the front, it seems to have a 6.65-inch display which is slightly bigger than OnePlus 8. Both OnePlus 8 & OnePlus 8 Pro will come with a 90Hz display. OnePlus can launch their new series in Q2 of 2020.

According to reports, OnePlus is testing its 5G technology in India and we can expect 5G in OnePlus 8 lineup.

Talking about OnePlus 8 Lite, this variant can come after their launch. Renders show a punch-hole display which is in the middle and this device comes with a screen size ranging from 6.4" - 6.5". It seems that OnePlus has removed fingerprint in this lite variant from back indicating that it may be underneath the AMOLED display. OnePlus 8 lite will be more like a mid-range smartphone & will come with a different chipset.

Qualcomm recently unveiled its flagship processors but they won`t feature in any smartphone until next year. Many smartphone makers like Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, and Nubia have announced their SD 865 & SD 765 powered smartphones. These processors are in the hype and to disrupt this, Huawei is planning to launch its new 5G integrated System on Chip (SoC).

According to some leaks, new SoC`s will be named as Kirin 1020 and Kirin 820. Kirin 820 will be used in mid-range smartphones and will replace kirin 810 SoC.

The exact specifications are not out yet, but we can expect Kirin 1020 to be 5G ready SoC. Kirin 1020 will be produced on 5Nm technology and will be integrated with ARM Cortex-A-77 CPU architecture. The performance is estimated to increase by 50% compared to Kirin 990. It might not come in the 4G variant. like the present Kirin 990 SoC.

The leaks suggest that Huawei will use Kirin 1020 SoC in its Flagship smartphone series "Mate 40". We can expect the launch of the Mate 40 series in Q2 of 2020.

As far as the Kirin 820 is concerned, it will have an integrated 5G modem and will most likely be seen onboard on Nova 7 or Honor 7x.

7). 5G vs 4G LTE-

In recent times, 5G is in the hype. Every smartphone maker is talking about the technology and advantages of a 5G network. Chipset makers like Qualcomm and Mediatek have already launched their 5G integrated SoC`s. Smartphone makers like Samsung, OnePlus, Xiaomi have announced their 5G supported handsets which will be hitting markets by early 2020. Nokia, Ericson, and Intel are also working on their very own 5G technology. Apple is also planning to launch its 5G supported iPhone next year.

Developments in the field of 5G technology are quicker than it was at the time of 4G.

 What is 5G?

5G is the fifth generation of mobile networks designed to deliver fast data transfer speeds and lower latency. It can greatly increase the speed and responsiveness of mobile networks.

5G offers network management features like network slicing, which allows mobile operators to create more than one virtual network within a single physical 5G network.

In a 4G network, we used the frequency spectrum ranging from 3KHz- 6GHz with a latency of 30 ms.

The 5G network uses millimeter waves which work in frequency spectrum ranging from 30GHz - 300GHz with a latency of just 1 millisecond.

Advantages of 5G over a 4G network?

The Full-fledged fifth-generation network is expected to be launched in 2020. 5G will bring a faster and reliable connection to the Internet of Things (IoT), autonomous vehicles. In the 4G network, a Full HD movie takes around 8-10 min to download but in the 5G network, it will only take a few seconds.

Here are some advantages of 5G over a 4G network-

1. Faster speed: Data transfer speeds in the 5G network will be 10 times higher than in the current 4G network. This will help in maintaining connectivity between self-driving vehicles.
2. Low Latency: In 3G/4G networks, latency was around 30ms which created a lot of problems in maintaining communication, but in a 5G network, latency is just 1ms. In the future, it will be possible for us to watch VR, AR movies without noticing any lag.
3. Increased Connectivity: The 5G network will have a more increased capacity over 4G. More devices will be able to communicate with each other at the same time.

8). Apple iPhone 12 leaks-

iPhone 12 renders

As we all know the iPhone 11 was a hit, leaks suggest that Apple is now working on its latest smartphone "iPhone 12". From the renders, it seems that will be no notch and the back camera setup will be similar to iPhone 11 Pro.
Apple iPhone 12 will have 5G and will come with a more powerful 5Nm chip. Reports suggest that similar to iPhone 11 series, Apple will also launch the iPhone 12 series. At least one of them will support the 5G network.
From the front, it seems that notch is missing. A 6.7-inch display will now house Apple`s TrueDepth Camera setup under this thin bezel.
The concept videos of the iPhone 12 have arrived on youtube. Created by graphic designer Techy Paradise, it shows no sign of notch. The components have become tiny and are underneath this thin bezel.
Other leaks suggest that iPhone 12 will have a punch-hole display. There will be 4 different variants of the iPhone 12 (different screen size), all of them will have OLED displays. iPhone 12 series will use new Apple Bionic chipsets that will be based on 5Nm technology and will come with integrated 5G modems. According to reports, Apple is working with Qualcomm and Samsung to develop 5G modems for its new SoC.
